AMflytying was founded in 2009 by Andrey Mukans following successful generations of fishing within the Mukans family. Based in Ripon, North Yorkshire. Our small family run business is operated with you in mind.

Here at the Brown Trout we pride ourselves on our selection of trout and salmon reels.
Whereas most salmon reels have a modern disc braking system to facilitate playing larger species of fish- allowing the angler more control over his opponent, trout reels tend to be designed on a traditional click and pawl system, where the purpose is more to contain the line.
Reels tend to become part of what one’s pleasure is in fly fishing- they become old friends, and many a happy memory of epic struggles with fish are relived purely by taking one’s reel out of its bag at the begining of a new season in anticipation of things to come.
In both cases a reel is often considered to be what is loosely known as “Gentlemens Jewellery”
This is because many a reel is gifted to an angler from his/her partner to commemorate some special occasion.
