Butter Market Museum, Hall Square, Boroughbridge – The Butter Market was an open fronted building that was used in the 18th/19th century to give shelter to farmer’s wives on market day when they were selling dairy products. A local benefactor paid to have railing added to the building, allowing the Town Council to start a museum of local products and artifacts. The artifacts include bread ovens, railway items, and farm equipment. The collection is augmented with signboards giving a history of the items and is available to view at any time.
